Good afternoon, neighbors.
Attached is a Ballot nomination and Proxy form.
If you would like to nominate someone for the Board of Directors or Officers, you can submit your candidate on the 2024 nomination form. The nominations for Board of Directors will be printed on the 2024 Election Ballots held at the Annual Meeting and the nominations for Officers will be printed on the 2024 Election Ballots held at the Board of Directors Meeting. There will also be an opportunity to nominate someone from the floor – there will be a blank write-in section for those nominated from the floor. All nominees' names will be emailed one week prior to the Annual Meeting and Board of Directors Meeting. Each nominee will be given an opportunity to have the floor to speak prior to the Elections at the Annual Meeting and Board of Directors Meeting.
I strongly encourage Members who are entitled to vote and do not plan on attending the Annual Meeting, to complete a proxy form for another Member to represent them. There is a required 40% quorum for the Annual Meeting to be conducted. If we do not meet our quorum, the meeting will have to be rescheduled for a later date.
Have a great week, everyone!

Good afternoon, neighbors.
2024 Annual Assessments will be sent out this week via USPS along with the 2024 Annual Meeting notice. The Annual Meeting is scheduled for Sunday, March 03, 2024, 3:00pm at the North Preston Senior Center.
Annual assessments are due on March 01, 2024 To save on postage cost, you can hand deliver your Annual Assessment at the Annual Meeting if you prefer.
If you will not be able to attend the Annual Meeting, there will be a blank proxy form along with your Annual Assessment and Annual Meeting Notice for someone to represent you at the Annual Meeting. Members can email, mail, or have their representative bring the signed proxy form to the Annual Meeting.
I will be putting together a HazelWood 2023 photo slide show - if you have taken any photos throughout the year and would like to share with photo slide show - please email them to [email protected]
I would like to do the same great idea Beverly had last year and have a potluck for the Annual Meeting. The potluck was a huge success! You can make a comment in the comments section what you will be bringing. I will provide drinks (water, soda) and utensils.
Unfortunately, it is once again the time of year where potholes start showing their ugly faces. Jim Childs and I put down some gravel a couple weeks ago but they are back. When the snow disappears we will continue to fill them in as they reappear. Once the ground freezes - this is about all we can do until Spring season. We plan on having some discussions about applying fill dirt to steep hill and pothole areas with professional equipment.
Among many other discussions, we will review prior year minutes, old business, treasury report, 2023 expenses, 2024 budget, new business, and elections - followed by a social hour with great food and even better neighbors! Looking forward to seeing everyone!
Lastly, I’d like to send some special thanks to a lot of people that donate their personal time and equipment for the betterment of HazelWood. Big thanks to Tammy, Kris, Kelsey (& kids), Jenny, and other neighbors that stopped when they drove by and helped - for always making our entrance look spectacular with each Holiday or Season theme. You all are awesome! Special thanks to Jim Childs for working countless hours on the roads and using his equipment from anything to hauling gravel, raking gravel back onto roads to driving hours away to pick up needed supplies. Jim spends a lot of time working on common areas for the betterment of HazelWood and saving us lots of money along the way! Special thanks to Eric Moody for doing the same. He spends a lot of time working on roads and uses his personal equipment doing so that saves HazelWood money. You two are very appreciated - thank you for all you do. Special thanks to Jim Flynn for helping maintain the ditches near his property where water likes to backup. He helps to make sure the leaves are out of those ditches. He is also our HazelWood patrol man and keeps an eye out for our neighbors! lol Thanks, Jim! Tammy and Jim Childs collectively has also done a great job mowing this past year - our previous mowers canceled many of their contracts along with ours - Jim and Tammy stepped-in on last moments notice and has kept our development looking sharp this year. Thanks! Apologies if I left anyone out.
